DSA Duel
No Google. No GPT. Just Logic. The ultimate test of raw computer science fundamentals in total isolation.
About the Event
Step back into the era of pure logic. In the DSA Duel, the internet is dead, AI is gone, and it's just you vs. the machine. Hosted on a private LAN, this individual competition strips away the crutches of modern development to see who truly understands the art of the algorithm.
Round 1: The Functional Sprint: Focus on correctness. Pass the hidden test cases by any means necessary. Round 2: The Efficiency War: Tight time limits and strict memory constraints. O(n log n) or bust.
Rules & Regulations
- 1
Duo Competition
This is strictly an Duo event. No collaboration or communication between participants is permitted.
- 2
The Concept
The DSA-duel is a market-themed DSA competition. Every action costs Credits. Every optimized solution earns them back. You are not just solving problems — you are managing risk.
- 3
Starting Portfolio
Every participant begins with 1000 Credits. Submitting a solution costs 50 Credits. Hints cost more. Spend wisely.
- 4
How You Earn
Credits returned on a submission depend entirely on your solution's efficiency. A brute-force gets you a fraction back. An optimal solution turns a profit. A wrong answer returns nothing.
- 5
Hints
Three tiers of hints are available for purchase: a Logic Hint (pseudocode) , a Complexity Hint (target Big-O), and Insider Intel (the leaderboard leader's runtime and memory). None of them are free.
- 6
The Bounty Problem
One problem will be marked as the IPO of the Day. The first participant to solve it optimally wins a 1500 Credit jackpot. The reward decreases with every subsequent solve — first-mover advantage is real.
- 7
The Leaderboard
Live Net Worth Board updated in real time. Top 3 participants hold Whale status. Hit zero and you are Bankrupt — a one-time bailout keeps you in the game, but the market remembers.
- 8
Stack
C, Java, or Python. Standard libraries provided. No external documentation. No internet access.
- 9
Environment
Isolated LAN portal. Local mirror of standard docs available. Any form of malpractice will result in immediate disqualification.
